Preparation for Treatment

Ayurvedic Body Treatments are therapeutic, therefore, there are some beneficial practices to receive the best possible outcome. Please take this into consideration before booking in order to feel incredible after your appointment.

How to receive the most benefit from your therapies:

1-7 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR SESSION

  • Drink ginger tea or CCF tea the day of your visit as well as 1-7 days before your appointment.

  • Avoid ice, cold or frozen drinks/food.

  • Reduce or eliminate heavy to digest foods such as fried foods, hard cheeses, refined sugary foods, fast food, caffeinated beverages.

  • Eat warm, cooked vegetarian soups and stews, especially the night before your treatment. You can make extra to have ready for dinner when you get home from your appointment.

  • Get a good night's sleep the night before your treatment. Go to bed closer to 10pm.

AFTER A SESSION

  • Give yourself space after your therapies to go home, take a shower/bath and have some nice warm soup. Avoid doing errands, stressful situations and/or working afterwards so that the effects of the treatments will have more time to work on the body/mind.

The best time to schedule:

  • After traveling, moving, a stressful moment in life, trauma, illness or injury are wonderful times to rebuild Ojas (immunity/strength/vigor) with Ayurvedic Therapies.

  • General prevention and self-care. It's always a good time to receive body therapies as part of promoting balanced vibrant health. Ayurveda is the King of Preventative Health Care and when practiced over a long period of time one is healthy, looks radiant, and feels happy and peaceful!

  • 10 days before the start if your menstrual cycle. This aids in the purification process and can reduce PMS symptoms.

When to not schedule:

  • You are on the first 3-5 days (depending on heaviness) of your menstrual cycle. The body is meant to rest during this time of purification.

  • You have a cold or flu. *

  • If you have sinus congestion, fever, cough, sore throat or body aches. *

*The body needs 100% rest when it's in a detoxification stage (releasing excess toxins). In this case it's best to make an online consultation appointment for diet/herbal recommendations for healing quickly with ease and grace.
